Family Weekend

Daddy had to work all day on Saturday, but when he got home, Mommy packed a picnic dinner and we went to Shelby Farms.  We had cheese and crackers (my favorite) and chicken salad.  I love spending time with Dada!

I didn't really eat much because there were way too many distractions ;)

After dinner, Dada let me play with my new "bubble wand." It is really cool and blows lots of really big bubbles.  I can now say 'bubbles' too so I kept asking Dada for more 'bubbles.'

After the bubbles we went to see the horses.  They all really liked me, but Mommy was scared they would eat my foot, so I couldn't get too close.  I call horses and all other animals with 4 legs GAWGS (i.e. dogs), so I kept yelling 'GAWG' at the horse.  We both thought it was funny.

On Sunday after church and my nap (which by the way, most of the time these days I only take 1 nap - I am getting to be such a big girl!) we went to the zoo!  This was my 1st time being at the zoo when I knew how to walk.  I did NOT want to be in my stroller, but exploring all these interesting animals (GAWGS!).  I spent most of the time on Dada's shoulders when Mommy and Daddy got tired of waiting on me.  I can't help it I have short legs!

We had a lot of fun!  I enjoy the zoo more and more each time I go.  I am really interested in all the animals, but always prefer the petting zoo.  Here is me outside the birds and the bees exhibit.

We had so much fun together this weekend.  I love pretty weather and spending time with Mama and Dada!

Gracen-Filled Weekend + BIG NEWS + Runny nose

Sorry, to all my frequent readers, but our internet has been out for 10 days, so I haven't been able to do any blogging.  But, don't you guys worry, we still had a fun past few weeks with lots of pictures.  Mommy and I continue to have a blast on her days off from work.  Here is my first attempt at picture taking.  I have a feeling photography is going to be one of the many things I excel at ;) (This is my thumb if you guys can't figure that out)

Last weekend was a 'Gracen-filled' weekend.  We have SO much fun together.  We love to boss each other around and Gracen can even say "LAYLA."  I am working on saying Gracen, but haven't quite done it yet.  Instead I just get REALLY excited when I see her.  On Friday, we started off our weekend by Mommy and Aunt Stefanie taking us to the sprinkler park.  We both LOVED it.  First we played on the big kids playground.  Does everyone like my aqua socks?  They came in very handy at the playground and sprinkler park

Then Friday night, Mommy and Daddy invited Uncle Jared, Aunt Stefanie and Gracen over for burgers, so we could play longer.  Aren't we getting to be big girls?!?  

Then Saturday night we went over to Uncle Jared & Aunt Stefanie's apartment, so we got to play together AGAIN, then Sunday we all went out to lunch after church then swimming.  I love spending time with Gracen - we are best buds.  

On Wednesday, Mommy and & I ate dinner at Gangi & Pop Pop's along with Uncle Jared, Aunt Stef and Gracen and they had big news for us!  I'm going to have ANOTHER cousin!!!  Hurray!!!! Gracen and I are going to have so much fun with the newest addition, though we are going to have to be patient for him/her to be able to play with us.  Until then, we still have each other!

Finally, I have had a runny nose lately.  On Friday, I was eating my Cheerios when Mommy noticed that one had gotten stuck under my nose.  Hehehe

Then Friday night, we were having family time and I sneezed and oops, I need to learn to blow my nose ;)

Alright, gotta go take a nap.  Daddy had to work all day, but we are going to the park for a picnic tonight, so I need my rest.

Birmingham + Dada Sprayed me with the Hose!!!!!

So, this past weekend Mommy & Daddy wanted to get away from Memphis, so we decided to go see Uncle Andrew & Aunt Kelly in Birmingham b/c I had so much fun last time!  We got there really late on Friday night, so since I don't like to sleep in the car, I slept until 9:30 on Saturday morning.  Aunt Kelly was super glad about that!  On Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market, and shopping and then they took me to a super cool park where I made some new friends.  I was a bully at the park, but had a blast getting dirty!  Then I went and took a nap and when I woke up, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Andrew let Mommy & Daddy go to dinner and a movie without me.  I had a blast with them!  I spent most of the evening chasing Binky (the MEOW, i.e. cat) around the house.  Binky kept hissing at me, so I hissed back, hahaha, everyone thought it was funny ;).  I had so much fun and can't wait to go back to B'ham.  Somehow we made it through the entire weekend without a single picture!

Then tonight, Dada took me outside so he could water the plants and look what happened....

He sprayed me too!!  It was so much fun.  

Rough Week

My Great Aunt Watts (I like to just call her Aunt Watts - I think it makes her feel younger :) bought me some Minnie Mouse ears when she went to visit Mickey a few weeks ago.  I don't really understand why I was not invited on the trip.  I mean, they were all over the age of 21, I am the one that is SUPPOSED to go visit Mickey, but they brought me ears home, so I guess it is ok.  

I don't really like wearing them yet, if you can tell ;)

This week was a rough one for Mommy and me.  Mommy got really sick last Friday and was miserable all day Friday and Saturday, so Daddy took me to the lake.  Then I came home on Sunday with a HIGH fever.  I felt really crummy.  So, Mommy got to stay home with me while I recovered on Monday and Tuesday.  It was hard on Mommy to feel so bad and then get behind at work, but don't you guys worry, My Mommy is TOUGH!!!  Here is me soon after I had 104 fever.  I may look ok, but I was SICK!!

On Tuesday I was feeling MUCH better and so was Mommy.  I have a new trick where I like to carry around the dish rag while I'm walking around the house.  Obviously, my favorite is to put the dish rag over my head ;)

Alright, enough blogging for tonight - it is bed time!  Soon I will blog about my awesome trip to B'ham this past weekend to see Uncle Andrew & Aunt Kelly.  We had a blast, but I need to hit the way.  Niiiiiiiiiiiigh Niiiiiiiiiiiight.

On Thursday, Mommy took a video of me so all of my readers could see me walking and talking.  Please excuse Mommy's voice and her sniffing - she has been sick all weekend.  I hope I don't get it because she sure looked bad.  Daddy took me to the lake last night so we could give Mommy a break so hopefully she will get well soon.  Enjoy the video!

It's Too Big Dada

Last week, Daddy was in Vancouver with work, but when he came home, it was beautiful outside.  Mommy & Daddy thought it was a good time to see if I liked riding a bike.   So, Daddy bought me a seat & helmet so we could try it out.  Daddy spent my entire nap installing my new seat on his bike - Thanks Dada!  The helmet was for ages 3 & up, but Daddy told me I was a big girl and could wear it.   Do you guys think it fits?!?

Daddy tried to lift it up, so I could see out, but it kept slipping back over my eyes.  

I had fun on the bike ride, but think I will enjoy it more when Mommy & Daddy buy me a smaller helmet so I can see where I'm going! :)  Safety 1st!

When we got back to the house, Mommy let me play in the yard while Daddy cooked us some yummy dinner - mango chicken on the grill.  Yum!  I helped Mommy water the flowers

And then I played in my favorite toy - my car!  Uh oh, Mommy caught me!

And just for the record, I now have TWELVE TEETH!!!  I hope I don't get anymore teeth for awhile because these teeth HURT coming in.  Mommy hopes I'm done too because I have been CRANKY!

I Made My 1st Trip To B'ham!

So, Mommy & I packed up and went to Birmingham this weekend for "Girls Weekend"  No boys allowed!  Uncle Andrew had to work all weekend so Aunt Kelly invited me, Mommy & Grammy to keep her company.  They just bought this super cool house and Aunt Kelly even had toys and a high chair for me.  Uncle Andrew just started his residency at the hospital in the emergency room, so of course they make all the new guys work the late shift (7 p.m.-7 a.m.).  He was pretty tired most of the weekend, but that didn't stop us girls from having fun!  On Friday night (before Uncle Andrew went to work), Aunt Kelly and Uncle Andrew cooked us a YUMMY dinner - they even made homemade oreo ice cream.  It was so tasty, but Mommy only let me have a bite so it wouldn't hurt my tummy :(

Then on Saturday morning, we got up, went to the Farmers Market, which was super fun because everyone brought their GAWGS (i.e. dogs) with them to pick up their weekly fruits/veges.  Then we all went to the Birmingham Zoo!  Aunt Kelly invited Johnny, Tara and my boyfriend Jack to hang out with us.  Aunt Kelly has already set up an arranged marriage for me and Jack, but Daddy said not until I'm 30.  First we stopped to see the fish.

Then I posed for a picture (you guys know I don't turn down many picture taking opportunities).  See the fish in the background?!?  They wanted to be in the picture too ;)

Then we went off to the petting zoo, which is always the highlight of my trip.  Here is me and Mommy petting the goat

And then we went and saw the giraffes.  The baby giraffe was running around acting crazy (just like me;).  Aunt Kelly and I thought it was pretty funny!

After our trip to the zoo, we went home to take showers and a nap.  When we got up, we went to see Jack and then off to go shopping!  Every girls favorite thing to do!  After shopping we went to a really girly restaurant and had fancy sandwiches and pizzas.  They were yummy. And finally to end our super fun girls night, we had a pillow fight, which of course is my all time favorite thing to do.  I wanted to stay up late with the rest of the girls, but Mommy made me go to bed so I would be happy when I saw Daddy today.

So, this morning we said goodbye to Uncle Andrew after his late shift at the hospital and headed home.  Whew, what a tiring, but FUN weekend with Aunt Kelly, her Mommy (Mrs. Sharon), Grammy and Mommy.  Now I'm home and Daddy and I just had a blast playing with the hose - he drenched me with water!

I'm a BIG GIRL NOW!!

This week started out as a normal week.  Grammy took me to school on Monday, then Mommy stayed with me on Tuesday and THEN Wednesday, I woke up as sick as a dog!  I threw up all over Mommy, then Daddy's car and then Mommy 3 more times.  I got 3 baths, and 4 changes of clothes and so did Mommy.  After I got all of that out of my system, Mommy and I snuggled on the couch for the rest of the morning and watched Wimbledon (I think she secretly enjoyed me snuggling with her ;).  Then Daddy came home and spent the afternoon with me while Mommy went to work.  Here is me right before bed in my 5th outfit.  Don't I look sick?!?

On Thursday I woke up feeling like my old self again.  Mommy had to convince Grammy that I was all better.  She couldn't believe that I was so sick and already well, but I was.  And Mommy was right.  When she dropped me off at Grammy's house, I was acting like a crazy woman - playing with Abby (Grammy's dog), and throwing the ball (I even said ball before I threw it ;).  When Mommy called to check on me at lunchtime, Grammy had some news.  I was WALKING!!!!  I had taken 2 whole steps!!!  Mommy couldn't believe it.  I walked on July 2nd for the record books.  When Grammy dropped me off at Mommy's office, I showed off my new skills to all of Mommy's coworkers.  I walked about 10 steps down the hallway and acted like I did it all the time.  Hahaha, I'm silly.  Mommy & Daddy are so proud of me.  They are yet to get me to walk for the video camera, but when they do, I will be sure to post it on my blog!

Then, Thursday night, Mommy & Aunt Stefanie went to the lake to get some sleep and to get away from me and Gracen.  I can't imagine why they would want to do that, but I had a blast with Daddy.  He let me drink my milk in my big girl chair.

Then last night, Aunt Stefanie, Uncle Jared, and Gracen came over for burgers.  Gracen and I liked Daddy's burgers.  We also played in the yard.  Daddy gave me my bath while Mommy cleaned up.  Daddy, this is WAY to many bubbles, hahaha

Oh, I almost forgot, I have ONE final story from my week.  On Monday night, Mommy had made a chicken pot pie for us for dinner.  It was getting late and I was getting hungry, so Daddy felt that the chicken pot pie wasn't cooking fast enough, so he decided to put it on HIGH broil so the top would cook faster.  Mommy & I came in the kitchen and Mommy said, "What's burning?"  Daddy opened the oven and our dinner was BLACK!  Immediately I said, "Dada, UhOh"  I said my 1st sentence and how appropriate!!!!!  Ok, gotta go plan what we are doing for the 4th of July.  Mommy mentioned that we might go to the zoo.  I hope we do!!!!!!!

1 Year Check Up

On Tuesday, Mommy and Grammy took me for my 1 year check up.  My doctor was very impressed with how well I was doing.  I think I weigh 21 pounds, 10 ounces (though this is not an exact weight because I wouldn't sit still long enough) and am 29 1/2 inches long.  I have grown an entire foot and gained 16 pounds this year.  Wow, that is impressive!  I'm a big girl now!

Then I went to the doctor and they gave me FOUR shots.  OUCH!!!!!!  But, after I got up from my nap, Mommy took me to see my pal Margaret (she is the daughter of Mommy's lifelong friend, Rebecca).  I see many playdates ahead in our future.  Too bad she lives so far away!  I was showing Margaret how to play with her toys. 

After we got home from our play date, Mommy let me play in my favorite outfit - my birthday suit!  Here is my climbing in the chair that Gangi and Pop Pop gave me for my birthday.

Daddy is out of town on a business trip so Mommy has been pretty tired all week, but we are going to visit some of her college buddies this week, so I'm super excited.
