My Dedication - 11/23/08

On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy dedicated me to the church.  They feel that it is very important that I learn about Jesus at a very young age.  They chose Psalm 71:17-18 as my life verse:
17 Since my youth, O God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18 Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your might to all who are to come.
Wow, I have a lot to learn, but Mommy and Daddy have promised to help me along the way.

Both of my grandmothers wanted to make this a special day for me.  They both spent countless hours making me pretty things for my dedication that I can pass down to the generations to come.  Grandmother Lou made my dress for me.  Here is us together before the service:
Gangi wove a blanket for me.  I was sad I couldn't wear it during the dedication, but it would have covered up my dress :(
Here is Mommy and me right before the service (I was kind of nervous).
Here is all of us during the dedication.  Look how pretty my dress is:
I was so good during the service.  I sat in my daddy's lap and didn't make a peep until the service was over.  Everyone was impressed with how good I was!

After the service, Mommy cooked lunch for everyone at my house.  Great Aunt Nancy, Uncle Josh, Uncle Jared, Aunt Stefanie, and cousin Gracen came for lunch.  Gracen and I jumped for awhile in our Johnny Jump Ups, but I got really tired from my morning, so I crashed.

I know we didn't really get many good pictures of me in my dress and blanket, so Mommy and Grandmother Lou are going to take me to the photographer soon.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Thanksgiving with the Rawlinsons and Thursday we will be at the Housholders.  I am so thankful for all my family and how much they love me!  I have so much to be thankful for.  I can't wait until next year when I can actually eat turkey!

Squash and then an Upset Tummy

I've had a pretty eventful week.  On Wednesday, Gangi called Mommy to see if she had given me my medicine that morning because I had been sick.  Of course she had - Mommy never forget stuff like that!  Gangi thought I was feeling better so she gave me a whole jar of squash.
I really like squash - I finished it all and even got some in my hair.

Then I woke up this morning and didn't feel very well, but I didn't tell Mommy so she took me to Grandmother Lou's house.  I was sick all morning so Grandmother Lou called Mommy and she got really worried about me, so made me an appointment to see the doctor.

At the doctor, I weighed 15 pounds, 10 ounces.  I am growing fast!  Then the doctor examined me and couldn't find anything wrong, so she took some blood.  It hurt really bad when they pricked my thumb and it kept bleeding so they put a band aid on it.  All I wanted to do was put my thumb in my mouth, so I tried to eat my band aid.  I like the taste of them :)  After that, my doctor said I had a stomach virus.  Even though I am sick I am still happy.  Here are some pics from tonight:
Here is me after I threw up all over my outfit.  Don't I look sick?
Then I played in my excersaucer.  Can you tell I feel bad?
Then, when I was supposed to be in bed, mommy let me swing in my swing because my tummy was upset when I laid flat.

I hope I feel better tomorrow and so does Mommy.  She doesn't like it when I feel bad.  I am getting dedicated to the church on Sunday, so check back for pictures of me in my dress that Grandmother Lou made me.  If anyone wants to come, call my mommy for details!

Saturday Night Fun

Tonight my Uncle Jared, Aunt Stefanie and Cousin Gracen came to visit.  Daddy grilled some steaks while Gracen and I played on the floor together.  Look how much we look alike.  Can you tell our Daddies are brothers?!?
We had a great time together, but then I got grumpy because I didn't take a good nap because Mommy took me shopping today.

My New Shoes

Today I wore my new pink converse because I'm trying to be a cool kid.  Daddy bought me these shoes before I was born, but they have been too big until now.  Here is me about to go shopping to with Mommy and Daddy.
I was a big hit while we were out.  The lady at Office Depot loved my new shoes.  I got worn out on the way home from shopping, so mommy put me to bed new shoes and all.
My cousin Gracen is coming over for dinner, so Mommy told me to take a good nap so we can play together.  Oh, by the way, check out my shirt.  In case you can't see all of it, it says "Daddy, I won't a pony."  I saw it at Target yesterday and begged Mommy to buy it for me so I could have something to match my new shoes.  She also bought me my jeans which are way too big, but I will grow into them soon.

Election Day

Tuesday was Election Day.  Mommy and I were glued to the TV as we watched 'history being made.'  We watched as Obama became the first African American to be made President of the United States of America.  Mommy tried to explain to me how Obama promises change, but I still don't understand what this change is going to be.  But considering that what my shirt says is true:
maybe his tax policy will help us out.  I think I agree with Joe the Plumber.....

My 1st Halloween

So, for Halloween, Mommy dressed me up as a rat.  She promises that when she bought the costume that she thought it was a mouse, but it is definitely a rat.  I was so embarrassed that I wouldn't even let her dress me up on Halloween night.  Here are the pics from a week before Halloween:
Look how hot this thing is.  Need I mention that it is 80 degrees outside?
Mommy, really?
Yep, it is definitely a rat.  Next year I want to have more say in what I dress up as.  I looked ridiculous!

My Pretty Dress

My Grandmother Lou has made me some really pretty dresses.  I love to put them on because I get a lot of attention from everyone about how cute I look.  Mommy took some pictures of me before church this morning:

Sure enough today at church I got a lot of attention!
